Meet the Board Members
| Linda M. Jackson was elected to the board in November, 2007 and currently serves as board president. She was originally appointed to the board in February 2006. Jackson is employed as a city planner for the city of San Rafael and is familiar with San Rafael's communities and the issues facing San Rafael parents. She has three children, two of whom have graduated from San Rafael High and one who is currently a student in the district. Jackson has a good understanding of how public agencies are governed, organized and funded, and she has served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. Jackson holds a B.A. in urban studies from Wellesley College and completed her graduate work at the University of Texas, from which she holds an M.A. in Latin American studies and an M.S. in community and regional planning. She served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador from 1979 to 1981. | ![]() |
![]() | Paul M. Cohen was elected to the board in November 2007, and has been elected as board vice president for 2010. Cohen previously served 16 years on the San Rafael City Council. Cohen is a parent of two San Rafael students and has served in several volunteer school government positions. He was an active participant in the development of the district's Roadmap to the Future five-year strategic plan. |
| Greg Knell was first elected to the board in 2003. He won re-election to his second term in 2007 by a wide margin. He is a Graphics Manager at InnerWorkings west coast headquarters in San Rafael, handling commercial print, point-of-purchase, and promotional products. A fourth generation San Rafael businessman, he qualified for membership in the Marin Generations Club, sponsored by the Marin Historical Society. He is an active participant in community affairs, serving as President and Vice-President of the Santa Margarita Neighborhood Association in Terra Linda, San Rafael’s largest homeowner / neighborhood organization. He has been a member of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce since 1983, serving on the Education, Business Development and several other committees. A long-time member of the Mission San Rafael Rotary Club, he participates in both the academic and vocational scholarship programs. He has two daughters who went through San Rafael City Schools K-12. His youngest daughter is now a senior in college, the oldest is a University graduate and is now working for DirectTV. | ![]() |
![]() | Jon Loberg was appointed to the Board in November, 2000 and was subsequently elected to the Board in November, 2002. He ran unopposed for his seat in November 2009. He is manager of parts operation for Bayshore International Trucks Inc., a provider of transportation, parts and services. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in graphic communications, transportation, inventory management, and business development. He has started several businesses, including tri-digital e-commerce in business development. He is a strong supporter of education and participates in several committees, including the Committee for Academic Excellence at TLHS, One-TL, Safe and Sober Grad Night at TL 2003, San Rafael/Dixie Liaison Committee, Marin County Joint Legislative Advisory Committee, TLHS Budget Oversight Committee, and more. Jon has two daughters, both graduates of Terra Linda High. Jon Loberg arrived in Terra Linda at the age of four. He went away to college, got married, and returned in 1985. |
| Natu Tuatagaloa was elected to the Board in November 2001, and ran unopposed for his seat in November 2009. Natu is our most current past board president. He is a San Rafael native who attended Glenwood Pre-School, San Pedro Elementary School, Santa Venetia Middle School, San Rafael High School, and is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley. At CAL, Natu played defensive line for the Bears and was voted Captain of the 1988 squad by his teammates. Natu is currently a Principal of a Design/Build firm which specializes in full-service engineering, electrical, telecommunications and commercial solar. Prior to entering the business world, he played six years in the National Football League as defensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, and Houston Oilers. He has three children: Tianna is a graduate of San Rafael High School and Gonzaga University. Malia is in 5th grade and McKenna is in 2nd grade at Coleman Elementary School. Natu’s wife, Judy Tuatagaloa, a fourth generation San Rafael native, is a substitute teacher for San Rafael City Schools. Natu Tuatagaloa resides in Central San Rafael. | ![]() |
