School Choice

Parents of students attending a school that is in Program Improvement (PI) may apply to enroll their child in a non-Program Improvement school and receive district-paid transportation to the school.

PI Schools Non-PI Schools
San Pedro Elementary Bahia Vista Elementary
Venetia Valley K-8 Coleman Elementary
Davidson Middle Glenwood Elementary
San Rafael High Laurel Dell Elementary
Madrone High Sun Valley Elementary
  Terra Linda High

Since both SRCS middle schools are in PI, transfers will be subject to the governing board's Interdistrict Attendance policy (BP5117) and must follow the procedures for interdistrict attendance outlined in SRCS Administrative Regulations (AR5117).

All CIF regulations governing student transfers which determine a student athlete's eligibility to participate in high school sports are applicable.

District-paid transportation to the non-PI school will only be available as long as the home school continues to be identified as a PI school.  If the demand for choice exceeds funds available, priority will be given to the lowest achieving, low-income students.
